Friday, October 3rd, 2014.

 Dear Parents and Guardians,

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Another busy week for us! Students are really enjoying our discussions about the First Nations People. Both classes' homework for Thursday, October 8th, is to find information on who is Carl Ray in French.

Just a friendly reminder that the Grade 5's are having their Science test on Monday, October 6th. If your child is participating in Cross-Country, they will have time to do the test before leaving for this exciting event!

Good luck to all of our Cross-Country runners!

We continue working on visualization. Please find below the Grade 6 visualization for this week. They look awesome! Bravo 6ième année! For October, we will still be working on Descriptive writing. Encourage your child to describe a person, an object or a place by using adjectives so you can see the description in your head. Adjectifs possessifs has been introduced this week and soon adjectifs démonstratifs will follow.

Here are some suggestions to help your child to learn French:
-Check out a French library book.
-Watch a movie in French (add the French subtitles at the bottom).
-Subscribe to a French newspaper or magazine.
-Play board games in French such as, Monopoly, Scrabble, Clue...

The more your child is exposed, the more he/she will expand their French Oral Communication. Please click on the following link to learn more on how you can help, stimulate, and encourage your child to love French.

Just a friendly reminder that Friday, October 10th, is a PD day and on Monday, October, 13 is Thanksgiving.

Wishing you an excellent weekend!

Mme Mathieu
