Tumble book Library.
Reading is an important component of the French program. Students are encouraged to go to this site and pick a book from the list. They need to listen to it; the computer will read it for them. They can then pause it then repeat the sentence that the computer just read. Another good trick would be to record their reading on a tech device. Then they can listen to the book again, pause and listen to the book again, pause and listen to themselves reading. This way they can compare their pronunciation with the Tumblebook sight. Great practice while auto correcting!

Ici, on parle en français!!!
Starting this week, if you receive an email from me, it`s to inform you about the progress your child is doing in oral French. As I tell your child on a daily basis: when there is a problem, there is always a solution, we just have to find it. I have been trying to figure out how to motivate them and I think I finally found the solution. So, this is my new way to push them to speak in French...the mystery list! Every day, I pick 5-7 students from my class list and I pay particular attention to those students. Do they speak in French with their peers? To me? At the end of the day, I email the parents of those students to inform them of their child's oral ability. The students do not know who I pick each day and they only find out once YOU inform them that you received an email from me.
Wishing a beautiful week!
Sincerely,
Mme Mathieu
