Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are now in our third month of school. Wow! Continue to look at your child's agenda every night to stay informed.

I would like to introduce Mme Diane El-Hajjar. She is a student-teacher from the University of Ottawa. She will be with us from November 3rd to November 28th. 





LEARNING GOALS:
Grade 5 & Grade 6
In Language arts:

1) Speaking: Express themselves clearly
and coherently in French for various purposes
using familiar vocabulary to their message.

2) Reading: Questioning


3) Writing: Recount (As part of the recount, your child will need to know how to conjugate verbs at the 'Passé composé' & 'Imparfait').

Sciences:
THE HUMAN BODY: Design and build a model to demonstrate how organs or components of body systems in the human body work and interact with other components.



Social Studies: HERITAGE AND IDENTITY: FIRST NATIONS AND EUROPEANS IN NEW FRANCE AND EARLY CANADA:
-Describe some of the positive and negative consequences of contact between First Nations and Europeans in New France.

Grade 6 

Sciences:
BIODIVERSITY: Analyse a local issue related to biodiversity.

Social Studies: HERITAGE AND IDENTITY: COMMUNITIES IN CANADA, PAST AND PRESENT 
-Explain how various features that characterize a community can contribute to the identity and
image of a country.

Grade 5 Homework:
-Poem: 'In Flander`s Field' to learn by heart for our Remembrance Day Ceremony.
-Evaluations to be signed for tomorrow.
-P.2 of your progress report card and envelope to return tomorrow.
-Identity card to return tomorrow for Mme El-Hajjar.

Grade 6 Homework:
-Identify card to return tomorrow for Mme El-Hajjar.

Friendly reminders:

-Your child needs to always have his/her recorder with him/her.

-Poppies are now available to purchase.  It's a donation.
-Reminder to have your child bring in indoor shoes. This will help keep our school clean.
-Interviews are being held this Thursday, November 6th, from 3:15 to 6:15.y, Please book a time with our school Administrators @ 613-737-1141.
