Dear Parents,

We are still working on how to ask questions. Please see below a chart that is helping your child to be able to ask appropriate questions.

Here are some of the Grade 5`s questions from this picture:

Melissa: Combien de nourriture y a-t-il dans son panier?

Zachary : Pourquoi est-ce que le chien reste debout?

Matteo : Est-ce que le chien est entrainé à magasiner?

Nickolas A : Quelle sorte de chien est-il?

Kechia : Où est son propriétaire?

Ashleigh : Pourquoi est-ce qu’il y a de la nourriture autour de lui?

Imad : Pour quelle raison le chien a des bras?

Alice : Quel est son aliment préféré?

Joshua M : Pourquoi est-ce qu’il y a des fruits et des légumes dans cette image?

Dakota : Pourquoi est-ce que le chien a une tête plus grande en comparaison du reste de son corps?

Here is the 'Dictée' for next week. When studying, have your child read the words or sentences more than once. Since we are studying the 'Passé composé' & 'Imparfait', have your child recognize these verbs.

Your child will have a test on the 'Passé composé' & 'Imparfait'. Just a friendly reminder that we have been practicing these verbs in our JDF, viewed some YouTube lessons and been composing texts. I encourage you to study with your child every night. Your child should be bringing his/her JDF every night at home.

Grade 5: Grammar test 'Passé composé' et 'l'Imparfait' on Wednesday, December 10^th, 2014.

Have your child practice writing a 3 to 5 sentences paragraph using 'passé composé' & 'imparfait'. Have them identify the verbs. This concept have been taught in class. (See the previous blog).

Here are the following verbs that your child must study for the upcoming test:

-Verbe 'Être' et 'Avoir' au passé composé.

-Verbe en 'ER' à l'imparfait & 'Être'.

With the auxillary 'Avoir' and verbs ending in (ER) & (IR).

Grade 6: Grammar test 'Passé composé' et 'l'Imparfait' on Thursday, December 11^th, 2014.

Have your child practice writing a 5 to 7 sentences paragraph using 'passé composé' & 'imparfait'. Have them identify the verbs. This concept have been taught in class. (See the previous blog).

Here are the following verbs that your child must study for the upcoming test:

-Verbe 'Avoir' au passé composé.

-Verbe en 'ER' au passé composé'.

-Verbe en 'IR', 'RE' & 'ER' à l'imparfait. (Verbs clues in agenda)

Développer un texte descriptif avec l’aide de vos réponses de questions. (travail individuel)
Avec Tellagami : créer un caractère pour décrire ton biome en utilisant ton texte descriptif. (travail en groupe de 2 – 15 groupes)

- Les espèces envahissantes qui vivent dans ton biome?

3. Comment est-ce que les humains peuvent aider à préserver ton biome et la biodiversité?

Social Studies:

-Grade 5`s students have been working on building a dream catcher. They have learned the importance of why the dream catcher is so important for the First Nations. For the First Nations, the dream catcher is a small hoop containing a horsehair mesh, or a similar construction of string or yarn, decorated with feathers and beads, believed to give its owner good dreams. Here is a picture of the Grade 5's dream catcher.
