Dear Parents,

What a busy three days! In Language Arts, the students were reminded what a recount consists of.

Grade 5:
Mlle da Silva throughly went through the recount from Monday's blog, sentence by sentence. The students had to underline the 'Passé composé', 'Imparfait', 'nouns', 'verbs' and 'adjectives'. Then they were given the opportunity to illustrate the paragraph. The next lesson, the students will be recounting one of their experiences.

Grade 6:
Yesterday, Mme El-Hajjar  had a review of what a is recount and what it entitles. Your child was given an example of a recount and given instructions on how to identify sentences written in the 'Passé composé' and 'Imparfait'. As homework, they had to write a short recount text and identify the sentences. Today, they were reminded of their homework and what it needs to be included. Also, the text  needs to be shared with Mme Mathieu through Google Drive.  (france.mathieu@ocsb.ca).

Please encourage your child to continue to view the YouTube videos. By viewing and playing the games, they will be learning.

If possible, have your child read a French book and question your child about the story he/she read. By questioning you will be able to know if your child is understanding what he/she is reading.

Please encourage your child to show you their agenda every night to ensure that homework is being completed on the date required. Please initial your child's agenda. If your child is unable to complete his/her homework on the required day, please write a note in your child's agenda. Help your child to stay organized as this is a required tool for good work habits.
